Physical Rehabilitation: Veterinary Cold Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is the only course of treatment that actually stimulates the body to heal from within. Therapy lasers, which have been FDA approved since 2005, increase the release of endorphins in tissue so that the perception of pain is diminished. It reduces inflammation by decreasing inflammatory mediators, increasing phagocytosis (white blood cells and immune system), and reducing edema or swelling. It accelerates healing by increasing the blood flow and collagen to damaged tissue.
